NWIS is owned and operated jointly by Charlie Vermilyea, President, and Mike Barber, Vice President.
Charlie has been a licensed insurance agent for over 10 years, servicing and assisting clients throughout the state of Oregon with their employer group, individual and family insurance needs. She also has over 15 years experience in human resources and employee development. These combined experiences bring a well rounded understanding of both the employer's need to contain costs while attracting and retaining high quality, long term employees, as well as the needs and perceptions of the employees.
Mike is a National Guard veteran and has over 20 years experience as a firefighter, paramedic and flight medic. Mike is currently on active duty with the Oregon National Guard. Mike's experiences as a public servant have given him a unique insight to the need for quality health and life insurance, as well as a deep understanding of the need to protect one's income in the event of serious injury rendering a person unable to work for a period of time or indefinitely.
Together Charlie and Mike evaluate our clients' needs, educate them on their options, and implement the programs best suited to meet the needs of every individual we service.
